Total Video Converter Overview

Though Total Video Converter supports different media players, including Creative Zen and Archos, the WMV and AVI options and screen size should be configured manually. However, the program does not support VOB and RealMedia output formats, but a built-in burner wizard will help to burn DVD, CD, VCD and SVCD.

Total Video Converter supports batch converting, adjusting resolution, audio and video codices, audio and video bitrate, framerate, sample rate and extraction of audio tracks from video files. It is important to note that these features give user a complete control over converting output videos. The only one thing missing is the support for adjusting contrast, video feel, brightness and some minor effects.

Software tests revealed some difficulties in usability. If you try to convert the formats unsupported by Total Video Converter, the program will "abort" and then shut down. Moreover, the application has a built-in tool called Total FLV Sniffer, which is supposed to download videos directly from YouTube and other similar sites, but actually it seems that it doesn't work properly, and the support couldn't help with that.

Unfortunately, Total Video Converter is provided with very little documentation. That is the case when a really great product may lose its cool. This program has a sparse built-in guide, a small FAQs section and an email contact on the Yahoo address. When the test group tried to contact the technical support regarding the problems with FLV Sniffer, the message was returned in a day with no answer from a company.

Conclusion:

Total Video Converter came up to users' expectations and was revealed to be another excellent video converter. Though there are more functional programs available on the market, that doesn't mean you must discount this product before trying it. As any other program, Total Video Converter has its own advantages and disadvantages.
